Often, a Christian will be talking to
other Christians and the question about what church do you go to
will come up. Many will say this or that church. If one answers that
he/she doesn’t go to a particular church they’re told that the bible
says that they have to go to church and if they aren’t going to they
are backslidden. Apart from the fact that this is very oppressive
and obsessive position of many of the “born again” community at
large, but sounds like a reinstatement of organized religions. Many
of the “born again’s” will tell you that they are not about
religion, and that they have something everybody else doesn’t have,
the real Jesus. So the very thing (our loving and inviting
assembling together) that is suppose to make us Christians the most
sought after group on the face of the planet, instead has been used
as a hammer by parents and fellow Christians.
It’s like somebody asking you have you had intercourse with your
wife lately and if not, then you are violating something out of the
bible. The early church was so in love with each other and the
people around them that they pooled all their money together to help
other Christians in need and those around them that weren’t
Christians. There were many healings and miracles. But, what we have
in today’s church is a form of spiritual genocide and of course use
the bible to confirm it too.
Now I could point and quote a lot of verse about the different
ministry types and their function, but what is the use. Those who
have the right church structure, never seem to produce any spiritual
giants. This constant issue of submission also plagued the early
church. Imagine that the 7 churches mentioned in the book of
Revelation were all within 50 miles of each other (one day travel by
horse). There is always this separation that seems to exist between
the sheep and the ministry. Does the ministry know His voice, or
operate revelatory gifts at any great level? But instead the
ministry of today is a glorified concierge with a benefits package
and of course the best golden parachute of all, pie in the sky,
heaven forever. |
