I Thes 4:17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with
them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we
ever be with the Lord.
The word cloud(s) from the Greek (nephos, Nephele) all ref to
people. So, if the clouds is smybolic of people, then logically the
'air' is symbolic of spirit, and not the atmosphere.
I Thes4:16
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead
in Christ shall rise first:
I give this verse 2nd to point out that the 'dead' in Christ is not
a ref to those who have passed on and in the grave, but is in fact a
ref to those who are Christians that are backslidden/spiritu-ally
asleep.
There is now a series of books about rapture (The Left Behind
Series) that has negatively impacted the lives of about 2 billion
people. |
