Yes, often u hear Christians say when
somebody has backslidden that all we have to do is pray for that
person and they’ll be alright. Or, lets say u have a problem with
somebody and their response is for u to pray for them. Now, this
sounds very religious, but are these correct responses? If the
responsibility of a persons right or wrong actions are dependent on
somebody else's prayers, then y did Jesus die for our sins? This
form of religiosity is at best a feeble excuse or a justification
for voodoo/witchcraft. One could go a step further and say that the
great revivalist Charles Finney was in fact a glorified witch. The
“travail” that Finney and Father Nash went thru is very similar to
modern day Voodoo Practices or the ancient form of Baal worship. Y
is there no mention of this form of prayer from anywhere in the OT
or the NT. This only furthers another stumbling block for any
aspiring Christian to achieve a sensible walk with God. Just
remember “his yoke is easy, and his burden is lite.” |
