James 2:18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy
faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
James 2:20
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
James 2:26
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works
is dead also.
Eph 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Heb 1:10
And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the
earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
Mr 16:17
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall
they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
What seems funny here, is James being redundant about faith being
dead without works. But I thought that faith as a walk with God was
already all inclusive in that it includes both the will of God and
the action. Could it be that works is another reference to new
converts? So, faith here as a women or a family that can’t continue
to exist unless there are new converts or new additions to the
family., spiritual offspring. From Heb 1:10 one could infer that the
hands or the 5-fold ministries brings new converts who are able to
have access to this faith or walk have it by grace. Could we say
then that while one waters and another plants, only God can give the
increase. Did not God add to the church daily? The principal that
says that faith without works is dead is not in contradiction to
this latter statement, for it is God that does the converting. At
the appointed time God has brought you in.
