Rom 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Php 3:14
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in
Christ Jesus.
Jas 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point,
he is guilty of all.
Ro 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Heb 4:15
For we have not an high priest which cannot * be touched with the
feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we
are, yet without sin.
1Jo 3:9
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth
in him: and he cannot * sin, because he is born of God.
I have seen a lot of finger pointing down thru the years from one
christian to another about sin, as if they were still under the law
and they could pin point sin for and from one individual to the
next. Most don’t have a vision or a goal given them of God for their
lives, but they still know what sin is. We go to church, and tithe
and sing in the chior and fellowship and yet no one from the pastor
to the 5 year old will ever take the time to develop a relationship
with their 1st love, Jesus….not just know His presence, but the
ultimate discipline, to know his voice and obey.
Paul talks about the ‘mark’ as making the resurrection from the
dead. But the ‘dead’ isn’t physical death, but spiritual death. The
preportory steps to make the mark or the grade or the goal is
different from one person to the next. These steps, as it were, are
to be gotten by private or personal revelation. One can discern
anothers obedience thru discerning of Spirits which is also used to
rightly divide the word; sort of knocks out the cookie cutter
seminary approach; and lets not forget discerning between the soul
and the spirit. We all want the easy way without paying our dues or
picking up our cross, and then follow him… Sure, if you know his
voice and obey, things are possibly easy and simple, but not
shallow.
The individual plan God has for each of us is our mark. Jesus’s mark
was to not sell out to Satan and to die on the Cross. Its really
absurd to take a certain action in a persons life and then say this
is sin or this is wrong, so long as that person is on the path to
get to his goal, just about anything goes. Paul alludes to this,
‘all things are legal for me, but not always expediante.’ The
ultimate example is Jacob’s wrestling with the Angel. Its all a
matter or attitude and everything is negoitiable. This notion that
those of you who are not spiritual, are going to come along in the
flesh and make a flesh judgment about a spiritual matter going on
right before them is insanity. The natural man cannot not know, for
it is impossible. |
